Getting started

What you are signing up for today.

What is Backstop?

Backstop is a phone plan in development for trades and field-service businesses. The aim is to combine mobile service with AI that captures missed calls and helps you follow through on promises made during calls.

Can I start using Backstop today?

Not yet. Signup registers your interest; we will contact you about your workflow, setup and availability. It does not activate a line or start a trial.

Does signing up cost anything?

No. There is no payment-card step and no charge at signup. Any future trial or paid service would be offered separately with its timing, price and terms.

What happens after I sign up?

Verify your mobile number and add your email. We will contact you to understand the calls or follow-ups that get lost, and discuss whether an early test would be useful when access is available.

Who is Backstop for?

We are starting with tradespeople and field-service business operators whose phones bring in work: for example plumbers, electricians and HVAC businesses. A recent missed job call, callback or estimate is a useful starting point.

The intended product, price and first test.

What would happen when I miss a call?

The planned workflow is to answer when you cannot, capture the caller and job details, and prepare a clear next step for you. The demo illustrates that vision; launch features are still being validated.

What does the $99 plan include?

The planned price is $99 per line per month for mobile service and AI call handling. Final inclusions, usage terms and any charges will be confirmed before you choose to activate. Registering interest is free.

Do I need to change my number or carrier now?

No. Signup leaves your current number and service unchanged. A secondary-line test is the intended starting point; compatibility, availability and any later number transfer would be confirmed separately.

Which phones and integrations will be supported?

Device, network and integration support is still being validated. Tell us which phone and work tools you use so we can assess the fit before any setup.

Will my calls be recorded?

The current product direction is no saved audio recording by default. Any transcription, optional recording, caller notices and controls must be explained before you start using the service.

How can I discuss my workflow?

Use the contact form to describe where calls or follow-through break down. You do not need to move your number or commit to paid service to discuss the fit.
